Water ionizers are commonly used by people who want to go from the unhealthy tap water to a higher quality type of water. These devices take regular tap water and run it through a process called electrolysis that changes the structure of the water and increases its pH level thus, making it healthier for drinking. You can learn more about these devices, by reading reviews of the best water ionizers. Comprehensive reviews can be found on the site. A great advantage of water ionizers is that they are easy to install so you can quickly enjoy its beneficial effects. To help you through the installation process, we have resumed the steps you have to go through in order to have the water ionizer installed on your kitchen sink.
  • When you start the installation process for a water ionizer, you don’t have to uninstall the sink because the unit comes with special adapters that allow you to divert the water to the ionizer whenever needed. In case the ionizer you have purchased doesn’t include a faucet diverter, you will have to call for the help of a professional plumber that will perform all the necessary plumbing.
  • If your water ionizer is suitable for faucet installation but doesn’t come with a diverter, you will have to purchase one from a local hardware store. Standard faucets come with 15/16” male fittings but if the threads don’t match the faucet, you will need an adapter of 15/16”X13/16”. The rest of the components should be included in the water ionizer’s box otherwise, you will have to purchase those too.
  • Once you have the diverter, you can start installing your water ionizer. First, take out the aerator and ensure the faucet diverter is properly connected to the faucet. Then, grab some Teflon tape and wrap it around the inlet elbow so you will make sure no water will leak. Next, take a screwdriver and screw the elbow to the inlet of the water ionizer then connect the faucet diverter and the inlet elbow with a white hose that should be in the box. You will also find another hose in the box which should be connected to the outlet hole on the bottom of the water ionizer.
  • After all the hoses are connected in the adequate way, the water ionizer should be ready for use. Make sure there are no water leaks that could temper with the proper functioning of the unit. Plug the water ionizer and turn on the faucet so the tap water can be channeled through the water ionizer. Once the water goes through the electrolysis chamber, alkaline water of various pH will come out.
